HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR LEATHER SHOES

Experience the unique emotion of wearing your BLACK BISON sneakers, a moment full of positive emotions that elevate your mood to an incomparable level of ecstasy.

The moment you receive your BLACK BISON is a special experience: from opening the box to appreciating its characteristic leather aroma, visualizing the infinite style possibilities they offer you. This moment marks the beginning of a special relationship with your footwear.

To ensure that this feeling lasts over time and you enjoy every step with your sports shoes, follow our simple guide to care for your leather sneakers and prolong their useful life.

Always use the shoe horn to take care of your sneakers. Its use prevents short-term deformations of the leather.

When tying or adjusting your footwear, make sure you do it properly, avoiding doing the adjustment with too much force and taking care not to break the eyelet of the leather. Remember that this is still animal skin and can break due to improper use

It is advisable to let your sneakers rest. The leather needs to breathe and return to its original position so as not to age prematurely. Take care of them by letting them air out for a few minutes, clean them and store them in the carrying bag to prevent dirt from getting into them.

If we go on a trip with our leather sneakers, it is important to allow them to rest for at least a day. If you keep them in your suitcase, it is important to put paper shoe trees, or at least socks, inside, taking care not to deform them due to the imprisonment they suffer during the trip.

If your sports sneakers get wet, dry them with a soft cloth and make sure there is no water left on them. Use kitchen paper to absorb any moisture that may remain on the outside or inside. Letting them dry at room temperature is ideal, avoiding sunlight as this can cause discoloration and/or cracking of the leather.

Keep in mind that if the leather is suede, water may bleed the color of the leather.

Impermeabilizar y limpiar humedad

We recommend using our waterproofing product from the first step to keep dirt and unwanted liquids from getting into your leather shoes. If your shoe rack has enough space, keep the sneakers inside their box once they are in the bag.

Some care for different types of leather

Care for smooth or plated leather with our moisturizing cream to protect against premature wear.

  • Apply the cream to a clean cloth.
  • Rub over the footwear gently and evenly. Do not apply directly to leather.
  • Let it dry and shine the footwear with the brush soft bristles for shoes.

Take care of the shine of your leather shoes with our essential cream.

If your sneakers have suede leather , the ideal thing is to clean them with our dry cleaning kit and special brush , allowing for quick and effective cleaning.

Nubuck, suede or leather are not waterproof, so avoid getting them wet, as this can cause the release of aniline, staining the footwear. To care for them, we recommend using our Waterproofing Agent from the first time you put your sneakers on. It forms a protective film, protecting the leather from water, grease stains and impurities from the environment that tend to adhere to this type of product.

If the suede or calfskin leather has stains, it is recommended to use a cream eraser and rub gently on it. For this type of leather, shoe polish or leather grease should not be used.

Patent leather stands out for its easy cleaning and care thanks to its shiny protective layer, offering an elegant and impeccable look with ease.

To care for shiny leather and keep it clean, simply dust it with a dry cloth, dampen it slightly and rub gently. To give shine, it is suggested to use olive oil and rub evenly with a dry cloth.

recommendations

  • If your sneakers have several types of leather (smooth, suede, corrugated, patent leather) the ideal is to clean them separately, being as careful as possible not to stain or damage the leather.

  • Cleaning your shoes is important, but you should be careful not to overdo it. For example, excess water and cleaning products such as shoe polish or creams end up producing a series of stains that modify its original color and prevent the leather from breathing.
