Article: SHOE FIT

SHOE FIT

It is common for leather shoes to be somewhat stiff at first due to the nature of the material and the tanning process that hardens the leather. However, there are methods to soften them and make them comfortable from the first step.

  • Use at home first: An excellent strategy is to wear the shoes at home for short periods before wearing them in public. This allows the leather to gradually mold to the shape of your feet.

  • Apply oil or leather cream: Using specific products for leather care, such as oils or creams, can be very effective. Apply a thin layer over the leather and gently massage to allow it to penetrate the material. This will soften the leather and keep it flexible.

  • Use thick socks: Opting for thicker socks at the beginning can reduce friction between the leather and your feet, helping to prevent chafing and blisters.

  • Gentle heat: Exposing the shoes to gentle heat, such as using a hairdryer on its lowest setting or filling the shoes with hot water bags, can soften the leather. Then, walk in them while they are still warm so they mold to your feet.

  • Use shoe lasts: Shoe lasts are molds that are placed inside the shoes

Remember that the softening process can take some time, but with care and patience, your leather shoes will become more comfortable with regular use. So don't hesitate to enjoy the elegance and durability they offer!
